Warning: date() [function.date]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'America/Chicago' for 'CDT/-5.0/DST' instead in /backup/qa/www/sub/rss/product.php on line 32

Pros

The RSS reader is useful for those who do many things at once. There is no need to open extra windows because it displays all of the news you need right then and there. Fairly customizable and allows you to pick where you get your news/feeds from.

Cons

Downloaded what was a 30-day trial. There is a nag screen at startup, which is mildly annoying. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure everything out, though I found the application's help to be limited and slightly counter-intuitive. It is a handy program to have, but it uses quite a bit of bandwidth. I only recommend this program for people who have computers that can handle the bandwidth demands.

I have a user in my organization who insists on having a "ticker" style RSS reader and this is the only one I could find that was easy to install and was free. It's hard to figure out how to access the different settings; some are available through the full-screen, others through the shortcut. The options are not all that well explained once you do find them, so it took some trial and error to get it set up the way I wanted. The ticker looks great though.
